Stephen is a senior lawyer who has been with the firm for many years. He advises clients in many areas of the law including corporate law, corporate governance and risk management, regulatory compliance and regulator enforcement, privacy and data protection, commercial transactions and commercial litigation.
Stephen has been a partner with boutique and mid-tier law firms and was the General Counsel of BDO, Chartered Accountants for five and a half years. He has advised clients operating in many industries including banking and finance, energy, resources and renewables, higher education and training, retail and manufacturing, technology and innovation and professional advisers including auditors and accountants.
Stephen has a keen interest in law reform and in giving of his experience to the profession. He is a member of the Corporations Committee and Insolvency and Restructuring Committees of the Law Council of Australia and is a regular presenter at seminars for lawyers and auditors and accountants. He also lectured at Melbourne University’s Graduate Law School on the subject ‘Shareholders’ Rights and Remedies’.
