Ross has been a commercial litigator since 1980 becoming an Accredited Commercial Litigation Specialist in 1996. He started the Employment and Industrial Relations Team at Russell Kennedy in that year and commenced a Masters degree in Labour Relations at Melbourne University. He completed his Masters degree in 2001.

Ross has also achieved accreditation as a Workplace Relations Specialist and is widely regarded as an expert in all areas of employment law, discrimination/equal opportunity law and occupational health and safety. He is currently an examiner in the Law Institute Workplace Relations accreditation process.
