Ashley is our resident English and Mandarin speaking lawyer who works extensively with national and international clients including clients from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Having a wide exposure to several different fields of law, Ashley is able to draw on her broad knowledge of Australian, Chinese and South-east Asian legal jurisdictions to provide clients with a holistic legal strategy when dealing with business and property related matters in Australia.

LEGAL EXPERIENCE

As a result of her international background and legal experience, Ashley possesses an understanding and perspective of the cultural and legal differences in key commercial areas between the Australian and Chinese legal systems and is therefore uniquely placed to facilitate foreign investors' understanding of Australian commercial practices. In conjunction with the Hope Earle Partners and Counsel, Ashley provides valuable assistance in a range of commercial and property law matters, including:

  • Consulting and advising on tailored strategies to achieve business objectives in the areas of real property investment, purchase of businesses (including franchises) share purchases and other commercial structures.

  • Consulting, advising and negotiating commercial disputes, including litigation, debt recovery, contractual and shareholders matters.

  • Conducting legal due diligence reviews prior to the purchase and/or investment of real property, businesses, franchises, unit holdings and shares.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, in relation to property and business matters.

  • General property conveyancing and leasing (commercial and retail) matters.

  • Intellectual property including, trade marks, passing off, designs and related matters.

In addition to advising on commercial matters, Ashley is also a registered migration agent (MARN: 1387611), and is experienced in all aspects of the migration process, from lodgement at the primary application level to judicial reviews in Australian Courts.
